Chain Care &
Safety Inspection


The 101 of Motorcycle Maintenance.

In this class we’ll get hands-on and complete the most common and regular maintenance task most motorcyclists will do in their life - Cleaning, lubing, and tensioning the chain.

Alongside that, we’ll take a walk around your bike with you, teaching you what to look out for when checking your bike over, giving you peace of mind before every ride.

Items we’ll cover include:
- Checking oil levels and
- Brake pad wear
- Sprocket wear
- Tyre health & tread wear

Brake Maintenance


The intimidating one!

In this hands-on class, we’ll demystify one of the most intimidating systems new riders will encounter and be expected to maintain.

By breaking down the simple componeents of a motorcycle’s braking system, we’ll ensure you get a complete understanding of how they work, and how easy it is to keep this vital system in good condition.

You’ll get to practice:
- Recognizing and replacing worn brake pads
- Inspecting brake rotors for wear
- Replacingg old brake fluid
- Bleeding brake lines
- Using torque wrenches

Wheels &
Tyres


Deal with flats and replacing tyres.

In this class, we’ll talk all things tyres - from checking age and condition, to fixing flats and choosing between options when replacement time rolls around.

By the end of this session, you should be confident in your ability to assess your bike’s tyres for any issues, and make informed choices to save some cash, without sacrificing performance or reliability.

You’ll get to try:
- Identifying & locating a “slow leak” in a tyre
- Repairing a tyre puncture with a tyre repair kit
- Removal and Reinstallation of Rear wheel
- Removal & Reinstallation of Front wheel

Get Amped for Motorcycle Electrics!

This session will teach you all about your motorcycles basic 12v electrical circuits - where problems can arise, and how to quickly and safely sort out simple maintenance tasks.

Learning the fundamental Do’s & Don’ts of bike electrics should see you comfortable with tackling simple battery and component replacement jobs at home, installing accessories, along with simple fault finding when electrical gremlins come calling.

Hands-on work will include:
- Finding and checking your fuses
- Replacing a blown headlight
- Replacing a dead battery
- Jump-starting a bike

With booking spaces for 6, we intentionally keep our session small so that you have access to as much assistance as you need when getting hands on with your bike.
Due to our limited class size, spots can go fast - we recommend booking early to avoid missing out on your preferred time and date.

Don’t forget to let us know what bike you’re bringing in the booking form - that way we can setup correctly and give you the best experience on the day!

All of our classes are run within Peak Moto’s workshop in Port Melbourne, accessed via roller door on Lalor St - bring your bike around the back and we can get you set up in no time.
